Wyoming Hunting

A hunt in Wyoming is the experience of a lifetime. Feel the warmth of an elk camp when the aspens are shimmering gold, or stalk a mule deer and find the freedom of our wide-open spaces. Big game licenses are issued by a lottery system and the nonresident hunter must apply well in advance of the hunting season. Licenses are limited and frequently the demand exceeds the supply.

Big game hunting seasons vary by hunt area and species, but in general, there are antelope areas open from September through October; deer and elk areas open September through November. The small game or bird hunter will find cottontail rabbits, snowshoe hares, red and fox squirrels and sage, blue, ruffed and sharp-tailed grouse, chukar and Hungarian partridge, pheasant, mourning dove and wild turkey.

WYOMING FISHING

Wyoming has 22 species of game fish and we're proud to offer a quality fishing experience. Wyoming has an international reputation for trout fishing in cold, clear streams and lakes. But we also have a growing warm water fishery including largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, yellow perch and channel catfish. Nonresidents have their choice of purchasing daily licenses for $6 or a season license for $65 (plus a $10 Conservation Stamp). Nonresident children under 14 years of age may fish without a license as long as they are accompanied by a properly licensed adult, in which case all fish caught by the children will apply to the adult's daily and possession limits.

As featured on "The Fishin' Hole" hosted by Jerry McKinnis/ ESPN TV, we specialize in "away from the crowd" horseback pack trips into the backcountry of Yellowstone Park and the spectacular, unspoiled Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Our horses are well broke, gentle and trailwise. Previous riding experience is helpful but not required.

Yellowstone Park pack trips offer secluded fishing in famous trout waters such as Slough Creek, Cache Creek, Pebble Creek, Miller Creek, Agate Creek, and the Lamar River, just to name a few. Whether you go to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness or into Yellowstone Park, the abundance of wildlife, beautiful wild flowers, waterfalls, and towering granite peaks offer infinite photography and sightseeing opportunities.
